Quite a few of the BMW's and MB's here dont have a badge on them, why I cant tell you - however I suspect it is so the owner can play around with other cars and not have them know what kind of car they are going up againts. My '00 BMW 530d doesn have a badge on it either, it never did.

The car in this picture isnt a show car, I spotted this one at a MB dealership in downtown Stuttgart (next to a whole bunch of the new "S" Class's which I'll get pictures of today)

i know that many of the regular mercedes' 320's 280's 500's 430's and so on, often don't get the badges, but supposedly, each AMG-destined mercedes is supposed to go to the factory, where they put a badge on each one.
If you live in france even if you a have a 55 amg you want the people to belieeve you have the smallest engine. The reason is culture and jalousy and avoid problems you don't want to show of.
