Interior door trimming

Strikes me that the soft trim which runs around the inside of each door and along the sills is going to look pretty crappy in no time at all on the CLS.

Having completed just 500 miles in lousy weather, the driver's door trim already needs the carpet cleaner!

Perhaps light beige upholstery was my first mistake.
Anyhow, this item must be corrected by MB before long with a more durable protective material.

Anyone agree that the men in white coats at MB did not seriously think this one through before launching their new baby into the real world of motoring. ???
