Opening and closing doors - this normal?

So im purchasing my friends 2003 cl55 from him within the next month so lately ive been looking closer and closer at it. Anyways, it seems that if you open the door to fast it jumps. I know the car has auto-up and down windows and what not when you open and close the doors. He reccomends you open it slightly at first, wait for it to all the windo to roll down, then open it the rest of the way (like a .5 second pause). Do any of you guys do the same thing?

I always do that, chiefly to lessen stress on the window seals. Trying to get others to do it is another matter!

It's hard enough teaching them not to slam the doors (re: pneumatic closing assist).
