Hello All,

Can someone knowledgeable please advise me on the suspension of the CL cars from 2000 through 2004? Is the suspension the same on these cars as on the S class? Is the reliability of these suspension systems something I should worry about before purchasing a CL? Should I avoid the CL altogether because of the ABC? I love the look of the CL as well as the extreme comfort and safety, but am I in for too many maintenance headaches and/or costs? Thanks for your help.

I know what you mean... I grew up riding around in my dad's 190E, and since then I've had japanese, american, volkswagen, and really only find that MB feels like I think a car should feel.

And the way that the values of the high end MB's are plummeting, I am finding a lot of people saying "the value of this car tanked REAL bad" and "i'll never get another MB because of the resale value" etc etc... That's where I step in and buy up one of these amazing machines at a rediculous fraction of the original sticker cost. A $125k 2005 CL 55 AMG is now available for under $30k? If it has low miles, documented history, why not let the uber-rich people take the hit on buying a brand new overpriced car?

Anyway the search continues, I'm going to check out CLK 55's as well, though I think they're too small... and I'm a big guy who like spacious cars.

I believe the CLK 55 did not have the 493hp engine? It had a lower powered supercharged 5.4L though?

Love the car but repairs are way to expensive. so there is my fix and for the money what car can you get that is it's equal ?

ABC Repairs / Computer

I have an '03 CL500. The dual Pump for the ABC System began leaking oil. I took the car to my Local MB Dealer for a quote for the repair. THE BILL New Pump, New Rear Valve Assy, etc. $8,500.00 'That's roughly 1/2 of the value of the car!!!' I took it to a local MB service shop. He said, New Pump... Installed the new pump $1,200, still had a computer failure. replaced the Rear Valve Assy 'New' another $1,200. Still had the computer failure. At this point the ABC seemed to work fine. After many hours of research, our only choice was to replace the computer '032 545 54 32 (09). New at the dealer, $1,200... I got a used one from E-bay. It's working now...

Here's my question: Why could the ABC failure not be erased, reset or remover from the computer? Why did I have to replace the computer? Is this a common occurrence?

Thanks for your time...
