How's the factory premium audio sound? Subwoofer installation done anyone?

Hello everyone. I was originally in the market for a 2001 CL 600, but decided to go for a 2003 CL 55 instead. Anyway, what I am now wondering is about the "premium" factory sound system. How good or bad is it? I am an aspiring dance dj so having good bass is pretty important (so need advice on subs), but plan on keeping the stock speakers unless they really really suck. Anyone have good subwoofers installed? Any pictures? Thanks for any help.

Honestly, I Wouldn't do this. If you're an SPL guy, God bless you, but you'll need to tear the whole thing out. Adding a sub will completely throw the response curve off in your car: it'll be too bass-heavy. If you do it, swap out the mains too. You might be able to get by with the tweets as they are, but anyone who does a system in these does it lock-stock-and-barrel. If you look at the rapper's cars or the basketballer's rides, you'll see that everything is gone, save the head unit, potentially. That ain't a cheap process. Until these cars are better-understood by the general public, I wouldn't even try as an amateur. If you can find the Alpine show car, which is an S-class, they did a custom moulded dash and doors. Very cool install, but probably cost $25k or more.
