left rear tire wearing faster than right

Hi ,

i have a 2001 cl500 sport. had new tires at around 14,000. now at 22,000 miles, noticed
left rear tire is smoothing out compared to right. you can still see tread design on right
tire, but on the left tire the tread is almost gone. wear is even on the left tire. front tires
are still in good shape. in between miles i've had the rear left strut replaced due to leak and
also had the front and rear axle control valves replaced due to right side of car dropping.

is it normal having left rear tire wear faster than the right on these cars? this is my first rear
wheel drive car so i don't have any experience. i don't burn out or spin out, i always have
stability control on. wear is even on the tire so i don't think my alignment is off and tire pressure is good. i'm hoping its not the suspension. please tell me this is the norm.

another question i have is the torque more in the right or left wheel or the same for both.
current tires i have are the dunlop 9000 sport and wheels are the original amg. sorry for the long post. thanks for reading and any input in this matter is very much appreciated.

ps for orientation left/right side, this is if you stand in front of the car.

The fact that you've had the left shocker changed on its own, and not the right one at the same time, suggests to me without a doubt its your shocks.

Unless you've had the tyre pressure way too high for any period of time on the left one, I'm 100% sure it's your shocks. Normal practise would be to always change them as a pair (on a CL that's expensive tho).

Either that or something strange is up with your ABC system causing an imbalance in the application. But I'm convinced it's your shocks (or your left one in particular) having different characteristics. Tyre wear should be even for both rears, and for both fronts.
