Probably displacement (approx. 6L vs. 6.5L) but what year are you talking about? 2007 or so, because I think that was the 1st year the 65 AMGs were available?

I have been looking at CarChex warranty, which is literally bumper to bumper. I know in my search, that the term, bumper to bumper, is used pretty loosely. However, everything including wear and tear is covered. They also help you out with tires. My question is what is the Mercury warranty, cost and coverage??

I would never believe they will cover Wear and Tear also, even the dealer wont cover that. Double check and read the fine print please.
I have checked the fine print and even had the company send the contract so my senior lawyers I intern for in the summer could look over it. The cost is $4,500 and it also includes road side assistance, tires, rentals, and every electrical and engine part. However I haven't purchased the warranty or the car yet, and still open to suggestions. What do we know about the Mercury Warranty?
The best way to buy a used CL is buying one that comes with either the original factory or Starmark extended warranty from the manufacturer itself.
I actually bought my CL500 over other CL variants because it came with a Starmark warranty, which covered almost everything on my car other than wear and tear items. It cost more than other CLs did, but it was worth it.
If you purchase an aftermarket warranty separately, even if you do so from the dealership you buy the car from, you still have to worry about paying for deductibles. Also, even the best aftermarket warranties may substitute non-OEM items if repairs need to be done. In that case, you may as well as save the $4k you're going to spend on the aftermarket warranty and use this money to fix the car by finding a trustworthy mechanic and a good source for used OEM items.
Go with cars with remaining factory/Starmark warranty. Hire a broker to find a suitable car if you must. And be careful with the Starmark warranty. Apparently even Starmark itself offers different kind of warranties depending on what the contract states.
I'm pretty sure I just bought that car, in Cincinnati. Paid 25k. Amazing car so far. How in the hell was it only 25k? Maybe there's no market for it, but I could care less. I'm driving this SOB til it dies. What a car.
None are shown for 2006 or 2007. One is mentioned for 2008 but no details are given.
The W215 CL65 was introduced (to the US) in 2005. They are the 6L biturbo V12 (vs. the 5.5L biturbo V12 from the 2003+ CL600). I believe they ran for only 2 years (2005 and 2006). There was no CL65 in 2007. CL65 for 2008 came as the W216 chassis.
If you don't worry much about selling it back, get the W215 CL65. They are dirt cheap now (compare to new).
