I beleive the reason why so many M-B "owners" don't complain about problems is that they lease the car and give it back at the end of the lease. They don'[t care at that point as it will be someone else's problem.

I, on the other hand, own my cars, and I am always concerned about any issues repairing them before they become an issue.

My CL has been a constant problem with incredible issues I have never had on all the cars I have owned combined. It's one thing after another, and that's too much for me to take.

I have not even driven the car 11K miles in 3 1/2 years!

It's a beautiful car but due to the problems we don't drive it much!

The lemon law suit is the only way to go.

With all the M-B's I have owned, M-B is foolish to have let this get out of hand. I have told so many people about these problems everyone of those persons has purchased other than M-B products, and we are talking high end models here.

So, M-B is the loser. I am done with them.

530i BMW has been fantastic, my 360 Ferrari is incredible, and the next 2 purchases will be a 997 Carrera 4S cabrio and a Quattroporte Sport GTS sedan.

The main reason the pump is so expensive is because only MB's can make and fix them.

I think the pump is made by Bosch but I'm not 100%.

You are what I call "the perfect customer".
Takes a reaming but keeps on licking.

Why does MB need to worry about little things like reliability and overpriced dealers when there are enough "perfect customers"?

My ABC switch went out last year. My car was actually lopesided. The mechanic described it as "riding on a bucking horse." I didn't realize how dangerous it was to drive it. Anyway, I had it fixed $1800!!!!! Ouch!!!!!!!! Then I found out that Mercedes had issued a recall notice for my 2002 and that would repair it. Save yourself some money check and see if your call qualifies for the recall and let Mercedes fix their problem. There is no easier way, I had my car towed four different times to get it fixed. Hope it helps. I have a new problem and am looking for help - the driver side of my car electrical side is not working. The window switches aren't working, the speaker is not working and the power seat is not working. We changed the fuses and even found the rear fuse. If anyone can offer help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Damn...and here I was contemplating the recent purchase of a CL500. I had read they could be problematic, but this thread has definitely put the CL on my "Not to own" list.

Guess I'll keep driving my Lexus coupe and sedan that have 200k and 160k, respectively, and drive like champions.

Post ABC PROBLEMS

OKAY HERES MY PROBLEM . I TOOK MY 02 CL500 TO A BENZ DEALER IN NJ (RAY CATENA MERCEDES) BECAUSE MY " ABC VISIT WORK SHOP" LIGHT CAME ON..AND THEY CLAIM THAT ITS MY MAIN ABC HOSE THAT IS LEAKING AND THAT ITS 1200$ BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO REMOVE MY TRANSMISSON TO REPLACE THE HOSE ..THE PART ITS SELF COSTS 480$ BUT THE LABOR ITS WHATS VERY COSTLY DUE TO THE WORK INVOLVED....? MAKE SENSE? THE RECALL HOSE WAS ALREADY CHANGED AMAZINGLY IT WAS ONLY THE 100$ HOSE....
THEN EVERY TIME I DROVE OVER A POT HOLE MY REAR WOULD GIVE OUT A BIT AND THEY "THINK" ITS THE LEFT REAR SHOCK...AND ITS ANOTHER 1500$ HOW DO YOU "THINK" ITS THE SHOCK ITS NOT LIKE ITS ONLY 100$ I MEAN AT LEAST LIE AND SAY IT IS....ANYWAYS IM VERY FUSTRATED AND ANGRY BECAUSE I HAVE A FEELING THAT I HAVENT SEEN THE END OF IT....
ANY INPUT WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED
THANK YOU

Are you certain that they had to remove the transmission in order to replace a hose?? Perhaps one of our technical experts has the answer.

WOW! I'm with Hawkman. I came here because I was (operative word "was") looking for a CL500. I don't need this headache. My W124 coupe keeps running and running. I guess I should be thankful for what I have.
