There's a Star Bulletin out on this subject as follows:
Date: 12/5/01
Order No: P-B-32.50/09
The problem in this bulletin pertains to a stuck valve block or one that has an internal leak. The fix is a system flush or valve block replacement.
Of course there is no way to tell if this involves your situation but take it in and have MB take a look. Good luck.
Hi I am new to this club, however, I could not help noticing all the problems with the ABC hoses. I have a 2002 CL 500 which just sprung a leak of one of the hydraulic hoses, right after my warranty expired (Wouldn't you know)!! Anyway, It was a pretty simple fix. I took it to a local European auto mechanic who only works on Volvos, Benzs, BMWs, etc and it was just a simple hose which needed to be replaced after springing a leak around the metal end bracket. Hose cost approx $60.00 and paid an additional $130.00 for labor and hyrdaulic fluid to be replaced. To tell if you have a leak look under the car while the car is "ON". Also if you have a leak, you should get a light on the dash which says "STOP! Car is too low!". You can also check the reserviour which is located on the driver's side under the hood, right above the front driver's wheel. I hope this helps. I will submit a photo of my CL beolw.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. I PICKED IT UP ON EBAY A FEW MONTHS AGO FOR 39K WITH 28,000 MILES!!
I have a 01 CL55AMG and the left rear suspension starting going nuts and droppin while I was driving down the road. Feared the worst, but the dealer flushed the system and replaced the ABC fluid and all is good! Said it breaks down over time...my car has about 46K miles....
BTW...that fluid must be liquid gold for what it cost! not cheap...but works..
