Does anyone know how to get rid of that pesky "DVD Video has been disabled to prevent Driver distraction" message from the COMAND console to play a video?
A wire needs to be bypassed or something, Benz dealers wont do it or recommend doing it.
Mine was done by an (off duty) mercedes electrician. So I know it can be done. Don't know how long it takes either since the car was there for a few days while I was out of town. Costed me a bottle of scotch.
I'm now an owner of a S500 and I'm having the same problems with the dvd video. I understand why the message comes up when the car is in motion, but is there anyway to watch a video when the car is in park, or is this autoscreen off feature always on when a dvd is being played?

Hi KaNViC240Sx, you can watch your DVD or TV if the car is stopped or dosen't drive more than 8km/h !

I wish I could even get that far........... I have managed to obtain a copy of the Vehicle Basic Data sheet which shows that code 527 was fitted (Command APS with navigation CD/DVD) But only CD's seem to work!

Has nothing to do with wires. It is a software setting.
YES GUYS I KNOW HOW TO.IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SOFTWARE IT IS A GROUND WIRE WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR IT DISABLES THE GROUND YOU HAVE TO FIND THAT WIRE AND MAKE IT A CONSTANT GROUND AND THATS IT
