Recently after using 'Max defrost' once, my 2014 e class has the AC button shown red indicator even after it is pressed. In other words, it no longer toggles. Anyone has suggestions?
As noted if you are in defrost it will be on all the time. When in other modes try shutting the while system off using the off button.
If that doesn't work try taking it out of auto and back.
Brought to the dealer. Ended up having ac pushbutton replaced and module re-initialized. Problem gone.
Got a W204 as a loaner for two days. The I4 was supprisingly smooth and the cabin quiet enough. However, it is a basic model without navigation or active packages. Big difference.
In the old days when a switch or button malfunctioned we just sprayed the bejesus out of it with WD40. Usually worked. Now the interiors are so nice can't risk the mess
Electrical contact cleaner may work. Check affect on finishes where they don't show first.
It will evaporate.
