I recently purchased a CPO 2010 E350. The MB warranty is due to expire soon and I want to extend it. I have been lurking on this forum for a while and believe I read a thread where a guy found a dealer in Montana or Minnesota or somewhere like that, that was selling extended warranties for far less than the typical dealer price of about $3200.
Does that sound familiar to anyone? Any other suggestions? Pricing? Thanks.

That is way over priced!! At cost warranties run about $1900-$2100 (at time of purchase), although a member here claimed that he was offered one for $1700. My extended CPO cost me dollars shy of $2K at time of purchase so be sure to shop around. Best dealer I have heard to ask quotes from is MB of Santa Rosa, CA. Call them up and ask for a quote. Tell them you found out by members of benz forums. Worked for me on my previous truck!

Is it really Certified? If so, for a 2010, the CPO warranty is 5 years from the in service date. That is the big value for a Certified car, 1 additional year and 50k miles. Now if you are coming up on 100k mi then obviously that'll do it as well.
Regardless, there is a good thread on the other MB forum that covers a few MB dealers that discount the Extended warranties pretty easily. I am sure there are others, but this is a good start. If you car is in fact certified, you already payed for what in effect is 5/100 ELW when you bought your car. You have only 2 options left, 6/120 or 7/135. 7/135 lists at $2,395 and you should be able to do much better then that. MAE350 and I paid about the same, and I believe you can do better then that - someone said something like $1700 or so.
Cost goes up (way up) if you don't get the extended warranty when you buy the car. Good luck finding a dealer willing to "deal" on the extended CPO warranty. I just bit the bullet and extended the CPO warranty on a 2008 SL55 - two years was just over $5500 - would have been about $2K less had I got it when I bought the car.

Interesting, are you saying that you called or emailed Erin or Travis from the link in a previous post and they told you that they wouldn't sell you the CPO extension?

Nope - didn't even know there was anyone to contact. Extended warranties (new and CPO) are a profit center. Based on my transactions with local dealerships (DC Metro area) I have a hard time believing a dealer would offer a discount on an extended CPO warranty. Live and learn I guess.
Anyone in need of a Service Contract, AKA Extended Warranty, can contact me directly. I work as Business Manager for a dealership in Vermont.
The Service Contracts I offer are through Warrantech. They are the factory underwriters of the Volvo and Mazda Service contracts, as well as others. They are good at any licensed repair shop anywhere in the US or Canada, including Mercedes dealerships. They pay directly to the repair shop.
Quote can be customized to fit your specific driving habits. You can choose any combination of months and miles. "Bumper-to-bumper" coverage is available out to 125,000 miles. Deductibles range from $0 to $500.
pdjv is correct - the longer you wait, and the more miles on the car, the more expensive it gets. If you want a quote, PM me your VIN and current mileage, how many miles a year you will drive, and how long a contract you want, and I will PM you back a quote.

But that's not quite the same as a Mercedes-Benz extended warranty (new or CPO), is it?

No, it is not a Mercedes contract, but if people wanted a Mercedes-Benz warranty, they would have bought it when they bought the car. I am simply offering an alternative that may or may not be cheaper. I have dealt with this company for many years. They are financially sound, and wholly owned by AmTrust. 98% of all premiums collected are paid out in claims.
I have them, my kids have them, and my friends all have them. If someone is interested, they can do their research and PM if still interested. Their website is Warrantech - Extended Service Plans, OEM Warranty, Specialty Risk. I personally don't care if anyone buys one or not. I only pay my bills.
I am offering them at dealer cost to anyone interested. This is just a courtesy to people here on this forum, and those on the "Balance Shaft Recall" Facebook page.
