Key fob battery replacement

Hello - recently my 2011 E63 gave me a message to replace the battery in the key fob (I've got the Keyless Go feature). Replacing the battery was easy enough, but how do I reset the message on the instrument cluster? I still get the "Replace key fob battery" message every time I start the car.

Thanks,
Kent

Try clicking on the battery message. See if you get a "yes or no" reply

I have been quite disappointed in the longevity of the batteries in these fobs...

I also, recently had to replace mine, after only 10 months.

Our other MB's keys last years, and years and years....

The downside of a "Keyless Entry", where the fob (i would assume) is "ALWAYS ON", and constantly searching for the vehicle.

According to the instr. book fob should not be near metal when not in use. It shortens battery life.

Buy batteries on AMAZON. Bought similar batteries recently there. 10 for $6.

The batteries in my E last anywhere from 6 mos to a year. Its a real pain to have to run out to get batteries when the warning occurrs. My ML550 also has keyless go and I am on my 3rd year with the original batteries. The difference is the E has only one battery in the key and the ML has 2. The parts dept at the dealership has had so many complaints that they are not charging for batteries any longer for the E's.By the way the warning goes away on its own when sensing the fresh batteries.
