Every time I have to reset my FSS it takes me longer than I'd like even though I've done it a few times.
The instructions can be confusing and a bit too techincal for us Non-Germans LOL.

Good post! It takes me just as long to reset the indicator as it does to do the oil change and clean up..... I m usually always searching for this info.:thumbsup:

 

It takes a whopping 10 seconds, once you've done it a time or two.

I had to do it 3 times before I got into the Diagnostic mode. I got Service 1, 2, 3, and 4 options too.

 

2011 E350 and it won't work. Try a dozen times. Any suggestions?

 

If you think that's tricky, you should try the 2 button steering wheel one ...

LouDell, I just thought of something.
Before you start the sequence you must have the main display showing the mileage, not any of the other screens otherwise it won't let you in.

 

That mist have been it. And I had to attempt it 3 times also...Thanks all...

I had to hit the "answer phone " & "OK" buttons at least 10 times for it to go to the next screen. Once I got past the step it worked like a charm.

 

Same thing here. 10-12 times and it went on to the scroll down screen, then worked great.

Hi Everyone,

This does work for a 2014. Also, once it is in the trip screen you can execute the "phone answer" and "OK" at anytime, no 5 sec delay or anything.

I've tried it many times and nothing, it keeps giving me trip odometer reset yes or no? Just can't get it to work.

 

It does work.
Did you start off by setting the speedometer/odometer to the metric scale of kilometers?

 

I got it but the key is to have not only the mileage showing but the menu bar that says trip, audio ....etc displayed as well, then bamm but it asked just before confirm whether i want reset oil grade 295.3 or 295.5 hmmmm no idea what that is but i select 295.5. But everything reset tho.....thx

I think that you mean MB Spec 229.3 or 229.5, where 229.3 is good for 20k km (12.5k miles) and 229.5 is good for 30k km (18.5k miles).

The computer needs to know what oil you used to work out the next change interval.

 

Yes sorry, i tried hard to remember the numbers...lol i selected 229.5. Maybe i should switch it back to 229.3 if i can?

 

No way of going back. 229.3 is for Western Europe anyways, not applicable for rest of world... IIRC.... This is for gas, diesel without DPF is fine, or if you have an SLR M155.

BTW- If changing your own oil non-AMG reach 80C at least, suction out the top preferred, for AMG reach at least 100C, drain from plug preferred, (because you want the oil cooler thermostat to open and so the oil there can drain, otherwise you risk overfill when putting in the prescribed amount!)
