How much of a difference is there between the E350 Luxury and Sport?

I know that there are a couple of exterior changes (Square vs. Oval Tailpipes, wheels, grill, etc.), but how different are their interiors and rides? Is the sports noticeably sportier and is the luxury noticeably smoother? Anyone driven both and would like to share their experiences?

I don’t think there would be any difference in the ride of the 550's but I think there is a difference in the 350's. I didn’t test drive any Luxury E vehicles so I wouldn’t know for sure.

Did not test drive the E350 luxury version as all of the test drive models are all sport model at our local dealers so cannot comment on the ride. However, I've seen pics somewhere on this forum that the new 2011 luxury model has the straight LED lights similar to the C and S class. In addition, the luxury model does not have the two-tone interior. If you get the almond interior, the headliner and carpet is also almond as opposed to the black on the sport models. You only get the 4 spoke steering wheel and only burl walnut trim (No black ashwood).

I bought the Luxury model after driving both cars. The price difference is about $700 because of the wood steering wheel which is only available with the Luxury. Ride I think is a little bit smoother and quieter with the Luxury model, This might be because of the diff. in tire sizes 18" vs. 17". I felt that the 17" is good enough for me, It will be cheeper to replace and it will probably last longer too, another plus would be tire rotation which you cannot do with the sports because the front and rear are different. Interior, I just like the cream and mocha combination. But you need to drive both to find your own taste. You cannot go wrong with either one.

You can rotate tires on the e350 sport 4matic as they are the same size.

Different supensions

The Luxury version has a comfort suspension and the Sports has a sports suspension. Not to be confused with the C/S switch for transmission on consoles of 2010 models.
Luxury also has a different grille and lower portions of front bumper cover and other trim pieces. Interior is also different.
Test drove both and much preferred the Luxury. However, it was a pain to find one at five dealerships I tried. Finally one dealer borrowed one from a customer.
