Address Book Limitations?

I tried to transfer my BlackBerry contacts to the address book but received a "memory full" error. I've got like 1600 contacts but don't know how many the car can hold?

Anyone have info?

Hi,

I also have around 1600 on my BB and it only imported half, I guess we talk about 800 contact capacity. Really not good ... any idea if I can use the memory card to store more?

I know you can import from the memory card but not sure if you can store them on. I'll search around. I'm thinking of getting a mem card anyway for music so maybe I'll try it and report back.

800 limit in 2010 is weaksauce

I ran into the same problem. However, I had a lot of duplicates on my phone (due to poor Outlook integrations w/ other programs). I used the following procedure to remove the dupes and I was able to get my contacts down low enough tosync w/ the car. Here's the link in case anyone else has the same issue: Easy Free Way To Remove Duplicate Contacts From Microsoft Outlook

BTW, I had 840 contacts in my phone when it sync'd successfully (some of them only had email addresses so maybe the Comand only imported the ones w/ real phone #s and addresses)

I read on another forum that the limit is 999 phone numbers. If you have multiple phone numbers for some contacts, they will all count, so you may not be able to import 999 contacts.

2010 e350 address book

Can someone tell me how to set different profiles for two mobile phones?..I created two bluetooth phones but when I download contacts it combines both phones contacts together......there must be a way to keep contacts limited to the phone in use...any ideas are appreciated.

My phone has 827 names, but multiple numbers for many. It would only download midway through the "S"es and keep telling me "address book full."

My solution: Both Blackberry and iPhones can limit which contacts are transferred via bluetooth to a car. I have an iPhone, so here's what I did:

1) On my computer, I made a new contact group called, "Mercedes Bluetooth." and put any numbers I think I'd need while in the car. My list was only about 100 names.

2) Sync the iPhone.

3) On iPhone. Go to Setting > General > Bluetooth. Then hit the blue arrow to the right of the car's bluetooth connection under "devices."

4) Under "Other Groups." check the new group, "Mercedes Bluetooth" rather than "All Contacts." Changes take effect next time you use the car. My system works much more quickly now, and I no longer see, "Address Book Full, press 'OK.'
