| 2009 E350 fuel gauge/reserve light problem
This morning my fuel gauge showed two bars, the reserve light was on and the "reserve fuel" message was displayed. I drove for about 10 miles at 50-60 mph on the freeway when I noticed that the fuel gauge dropped to empty (no bars), but the reserve light was OFF and the range indicator showed "--".
At the pump about 17.1 gallons went in and the gauge then showed full. However this means I still had ~4 gallons still left in the tank (21.1 US gal capacity) when the gauge was showing empty.
Is this normal or a problem with the fuel level system?
