Angry BATTERY JUST CHANGED CAR WON'T START AFTER SITTING 24 HOURS

I just bought a 2004 e55 and it was fine the first week...then I left headlights on for few hours and car was dead when I tried to restart. My mechanic checked battery and said it was done and had to be changed. Installed new battery and car was fine for 2 days. Left it sitting for about 24hrs and would not start .No lights in dashbord and no power anywhere.Totally dead...I don't get it! is this the alternator ,electrical issue or something else? I love this car but I'm freeked out about this and possible future issues...Please help!!

I thought so, the battery in the trunk is the auxillary battery, the engine starter battery is under the hood near the firewall. It is a very small 12v battery about the size of a motorbike battery.

Just a suggestion: if you are going to own a car like this, be certain to find a qualified mechanic who knows the brand and has access to SDS. Either an independent mechanic or a good dealership. The car has many eccentricities and is a bit esoteric. You don't want somebody who just claims they can work on the car, yet in reality really doesn't know what they're doing. You'll save a lot of money and headaches in the future.

p.s., not sure if you did this when you bought the car but a thorough pre-purchase inspection by a knowledgeable Mercedes tech with SDS is worth a lot. There are known issues with the E55 that should be checked out before purchase.

Good luck and enjoy the beast.
