Hi there - Been sifting through all the vibration threads and can't seem to find the issue I have with my 2004 E55. Have 35K on the car. Have the hardest time figuring this vibration out because it's when the car is cold and peaks between 2000-2300 RPM. Thought it was something with the drive train, but for the first time I decided to do a cold start and while in park between that range i have the problem. Once the car is at normal operation temp, the vibration goes away and when the car is cold the vibration is almost seems like it's syncronizing with the vibration cycling not bad, bad, not bad, bad like every second. Strangest thing. I looked at the pulley and can't see signs of a wobble by the naked eye. This has been gradually getting worse over the last several months but I just realized it happens when the car is cold and in park...not cool. Bringing it in tomorrow for service C but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas or perhaps have had similar issues.
Thanks,
Eric
Update - Just got the car back from the shop..(It drives like new with zero vibration at any RPM :-)) diagnosis and resolution - defective engine mounts. One more defective then the other as it was leaking during the removal process. Both were changed at $105 a side. As precaution the Transmission mounts were changed as well. All covered by "non" factory extended warranty, less $100 deductable. If looking for an outstanding team of mechanics in the Tampa FL area...i'd recommend Cars & Concepts. Benz, Audi, BMW, Porsh, VW and they have one expert on Honda S2000's. They do normal maint and race mods for brands mentioned. The Benz dealer I went to, (won't mention any names) gave me a nice new set of tires to the tune of $1900.00 when all was said and done and tried to convince me the vibration was normal during warm up...LOL Car is awesome now...
