I was searching 05 e55 and found a couple of them on autotrader for under $35,000. one had 44,200 miles and asked $33,500 but had a buyback history from Mercedes due to suspension issue? i guess it is not fully loaded one neither. If i get a extended warranty, what should I expect to pay?
Prices are all over the place, but expect a '04-'05 CPO E55 to be mid to high $40's. Cars with aftermarket warranties or none at all will be 3-5K less or more. I would run, not walk away from anything that was a buy back (lemon). MB goes kicking and screaming down the path of having to re-purchase anything, so it's likely there has been a lot of trouble with a car like that. It's also proven that one with a bad history will be likely to continue to have problems. I know it's not what you want to hear, but a little more $$$ up front can save a lot of heartache later. A late build '05 or '06 will have the latest updates like improved SC clutch and the better steering rack, so shoot for one of those if the budget allows.
