I'm new to the site and to MB's. I just purchased an 04 E55 with 48K miles and I have the option to purchase an extended warranty through Carchex. Just curious if anyone has used them and if it's worth the $4,000 for 4 years and 48,000 miles. I've heard horror stories of peoples MB's constantly being in the shop and I know people who have 120K on the odo and have never had a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a warranty on my 05 at 49,998 miles from a high-line dealer in town (not the dealership, they wanted $3,900) for $3,200 and it has no deductible and covers everythnig except trim pieces and paint.
Look, you can buy these from anyone and I only trusted the person I bought my car from, he's a solid family man and my best friend went to high school with him. Do yourself a favor and call him, I've been very happy with his shop and I know he sells and knows the benefits of many warranty policies but he's NOT a warranty only salesperson, who you don't really know if you can trust.
