First and foremost, is maintaining OEM wheel (tire+rim) diameter. OEM on a 2008 E350 is 245/40/18 front; 265/35/18 rear. Corresponding wheel diameters are
25.71" front;
25.30" rear. Now if your E350 has a sport package (AMG), then I suspect your OEM rear is 275/35/18 (wheel diameter:
25.57").
The correct, and only, tires for a Plus 2 fitment are as follow:
Front - 245/30/20; wheel diameter:
25.78.
Rear - 265/25/20; wheel diameter:
25.21 or 275/25/20; wheel diameter:
25.41. or 285/25/20; wheel diameter:
25.61. Rim width would be the deciding factor: 8.5 - 9 - 9.5.

And, here are a few points:
(1) You mounted 245/35/20 up front. That placed your wheel diameter one inch over OEM; 26.75 - 25.71 = 1.04". Thus, creating rubbing issues, speedometer issues, and ABS issues.
(2) 245/30/20; 285/25/20 is the most common combination for a reason. It's the optimum fitment.
(3) 245/30/20 front; 275/30/20 rear will not look stupid. It just is not the correct combination. 245/30 front; 275/
25/20 rear is.
With all due respect, what you failed to realize (or accept) is that when you plus size the rim, you must minus size the tire (namely the sidewall height). Potholes or not.
