Will '04 SL55 AMG fit '04 E55 AMG ?? - Benzworld.org

Hi,
Does any one know if the engine of a ’04 SL55 AMG will fit and operate OK in a ’04 E55 AMG.
The reason is I found this E55 with a cracked engine block for sale (cheap) and I know a friend who has a used SL55 engine for sale (cheap).
If the engine fits in the car then I might buy them.

It will fit but the ECU will have to be flashed to accomodate the engine. It is my understanding that the ECU in the car is synched to the cars' motor, tranny, etc.
