I have a 2004 e55 AMG and I want to get an aftermarket stereo and I currently have a command unit on my car that is not functioning. I thought that for the price it would cost to repair, I might aswell go with a nice aftermarket stereo. Could anyone give me some input. I have four questions that I am really curious on.
1. Could I get an aftermarket stereo that will be able to function with my SOS system?
2. Is there an aftermarket stereo that will fit close to perfect given that the control command unit creats quite a large gap?
3. Does anyone think that an aftermarket unit devalues my e55? If so, is it worth spending the extra money to fix?
4. Which aftermarket stereos do you guys recommend?
Is there a certain aspect of your stereo that you don't like? I don't know whether you have the Pro-Logic option, but that seems to be a great unit and I have not found it to be lacking.
Most people just want more bass, and for that there are plenty of options that are easily removable and won't require re-wiring everything in the car.
You can build a nice box, buy a bass tube or two and put in a quick disconnect so that if you need the space or sell the car you will not have seriously modified your car.
I'd be interested in knowing the results if you try any of these things, been sort of thinking about doing something like that myself - you can never have too much power or too much bass, right?
I dont think it should devalue your car as long as you put something that sounds good im going to put a system in my e55 when i get it i already have it parted out for what im going to do im keeping the stock nav and just having it converted and put a t3 15 subwoofer and 2000 watt pure power addictive audio amp for the sub and herts component speakers not sure what amp im doing for the components yet but if you do something deff let me know id like i hear about it
