2007 E55 or E63

Hey guys,

I have a dilemma, I am interested in buying one of these bad boys, but I don't know if I should buy one now? The 2006 E55, because I heard a rumor that the 2007 will be a E 63 AMG, if this is true, I would rather wait. But if nothing is going to change then, I'll just get one now. Does anyone know if anything is confirmed for a 2007 AMG 63?

You might want to wait. The E63 will have the new V8, very high tech. True it won't have the monster torque of the E55 Kompressor engines, but it will have the new 7 speed tranny that will hopefully make up for it. We won't know what kind of performance until they test it.

Also, 07 is the year for the facelifted E, so that's another reason you might want to wait.

I have not seen any spy photos but I am sure the 63 will come with a premium price. And you will lose the torque. Mercedes is going to debut the "63" in the ML class first so it could be later like mid 07 before we see the first 63 in the e. and it probably will be an 08 model year car. heck the new s class is an 07 already!

Two pics of E63 prototype testing:

Notice the little 65AMG-like air slits in the front bumper. Looks clean.

Well... 'regular'... They are AMG's. You can choose them as an option on the current E55 and SL55. Looks clean idd! my word! [:0][8D]

RE: 2007 E55 or E63

I think the new E63 will be priced about the same as the current E55 to enable the car to compete with the M5. It will probably spec out closer to the M5. But, the body in this pic doesn;t look much different than current models?
