They probably want to disguise the car as much as possible. Easy by pretending it is a regular E-class. The real deal will look a bit meaner I guess, although I hope they keep it as distinguished as possible.
About that torque - how is this 63 engine going to match up to the current 55?? I mean, over 500 in torque going down to 465? That seems pretty lame to me. Are we going to experience the same thrust, or is this new 63 engine going to give us less power at low speeds and takeoff?? (I'm also considering this because of an interest in the G-class)
Knowing the E63 was coming out I went for the '06 E55 for two reasons: I was able to negotiate a killer deal (because E63s are on their way) and I love the torque of the 55. There just aren't many opportunities to use 500+ bhp, but you can always use 516 ft lbs of torque to get away quickly.
