But, the body in this pic doesn;t look much different than current models?
They probably want to disguise the car as much as possible. Easy by pretending it is a regular E-class. The real deal will look a bit meaner I guess, although I hope they keep it as distinguished as possible.

RE: 2007 E55 or E63

About that torque - how is this 63 engine going to match up to the current 55?? I mean, over 500 in torque going down to 465? That seems pretty lame to me. Are we going to experience the same thrust, or is this new 63 engine going to give us less power at low speeds and takeoff?? (I'm also considering this because of an interest in the G-class)

Well I think the 63 will be a sportier engine, more playful.

I believe the 63 will be put in the E-Class this year.

Knowing the E63 was coming out I went for the '06 E55 for two reasons: I was able to negotiate a killer deal (because E63s are on their way) and I love the torque of the 55. There just aren't many opportunities to use 500+ bhp, but you can always use 516 ft lbs of torque to get away quickly.

Things to consider:

Much better deal's on E55

E63 will be a first year production vehicle and with MB's "ify" quality....???

Last/best year of E55, most bugs worked out

If you live in the US, form a performance perspective the 55's better for American type driving and or speeds.

I do love the new E63 seats

I do not like the 63's all black gauges

The 7 speed was/is still having issues

I want the 63 rear lip spoiler

The "new" 63 steering wheel is the same on my 2004 CLK500

Perhaps get the 55 now and the all new E ClassAMG in 2008 .

Smile E63 AMG pictures

This car has new 6.3 L engine naturally aspirated without kompressor or turbo
The exterior seems look the same except the logo on the boot.
The engine is quiet & powerful.

Thumbs up

Grab a cheap left over e55 and enjoy it and the BIG torque for the next few years, then consider the future twin turbo e63. That is what I did

The E63 is actually a 6.2L engine.
