"04 E55 Pedal Set

I wonder if anyone can help.
I have been looking for some time for a set of the four pedals, (including the footrest) for my W211 E55.
Looking on E Bay they seem to run between $40 and $70, but I suspect they are not original AMG.
The pedal set of the new CLS look awesome. They have the non slip "dots" inserted as opposed to the E bay offered "stripes" of non skid material.
Is there an outlet I can pursue to purchase a set of real OEM AMG replacement pedals?
You help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you email me?

I would buy the SL55 pedals from your mb dealer or one of the internet mb dealers to get a discount. These pedals are a direct replacements for the E55, it includes the gas, brake and parking brake cover. I think the S55 also has these AMG pedals. There is no dead pedal on any Mercedes, but you can fabricate one. People have made one using a gass pedal but mounted upside down.

Check out this link...

But I would just go with the SL55 pedal set. I'm sure that's what you saw on the CLS.

RE: Did you email me?

Yes, Norb, I did, as I feel you are the fount of all knowledge on this site!
Thanks for your input. I will be visiting my local dealer to inquire as to cost and availability.
Are the SL55 pedals just "add-ons' to the standard pedals, via a set of screws on the throttle and brake, and a "clip on" over the existing hand brake, or do I have to remove the old pedals and replace them with the new?
Again, your help is always appreciated.

They are a direct replacement....

Which is better than any bolt on pedals you buy from eBay. Plus they are OEM quality and never have to worry.

RE: They are a direct replacement....

Thanks again, Norb.
Do you have them on your E55?
If so, what was the instal time, and were there any pitfalls in the installation?
I am dealing with my pet AutoNation Mercedes Dealership, and they are having a problem in locating the SL55 pedals in their parts list! Consequently, I don't have a price as yet for the set. If you answer to the above is in the affirmative, can you possibly give me an order of costs.
Best Regards.

RE: They are a direct replacement....

I have contacted my local dealer, and eventually found someone who says he knows what he is talking about. I am being told that the Pedal Set from the SL55 will not fit the E55, and I quote "Pedal Sets are all chassis specific!"
As I say, this is from someone who "says he knows what he is talking about", but, as Auto Nation is involved I am somewhat unsure as to the reliability of this information.
I then called my friendly dealership in the UK, who told me pretty much the same thing. Again, I quote "I am not sure at all that you can install the SL55 pedals on the pick up points on the E55 linkage".

Has anyone out there actually performed this mod? I seem to recall on one of the forums that someone had posted a photo of the footwell of a W211 E55 they had with the pedals in question all shiny and nicely installed!

RE: "04 E55 Pedal Set

Have a look at the ones in my 98 E280, is that the kind you are looking for? These were drill & bolt on except for the FootBrake/parking, it was simple slide/clamp on.

Very easy to fit, appart from the drilling of the Brake pedal. (broke 2 drill bits). All parts were for a LHD car so I had to alter/bend the footrest pedal.[:D]

RE: "04 E55 Pedal Set

Where can these pedals be purchased? I called my dealer's parts dept and they suggested I buy it through the accessories section on MBUSA.com.... Strange. Guess that dealership's parts dept doesn't need to sell parts.

P.S. I checked the MBUSA.com accessories but could not find any pedals (standard rubber or AMG style)
