keyless go programming

Does anyone know how to program the keyless go key? I have 2 keys and only 1 works as "keyless". I need to actually insert the key into the ingnition for the other key to work. Thanks.

RE: keyless go programming

Two things. I heard that you must put your key in the ignition in position two for a couple of hours so that it will recognize it. Also check the number on your key, it should start with 175, if it does not its not a keyless go key.

Where do you check the number on the key?

This is a good segway to the question that I was going to ask anyway... Norb, do you know if I can order a non key-less go key for my [keyless-go] car?

Thanks.

RE: keyless go programming

Its on the key near the front transponder. Very small but visible.

Yes you can order a non keylessgo key for your keylessgo car. My uncle has an E55 also and lost one of his keys. They ordered him a new one and it worked like a normal key but the keylessgo didn't work. Eventually they figured out that it was a non keylessgo key (the look identical to regular keys).

Thanks. Mine doesn't start with 175 but it's a keyless go key. It starts with 321.

Maybe it's 175 for AMGs and 321 for non AMGs?
