Is there a Way to deactivate the speed limiter of 155 MPH on the U.S. cars?

AMG will only raise the limit to 300Kph and only at the factory for non-North America cars. Nearly every MB aftermarket tuner removes the limit completely . However there are some nasty rumors floating around about these unlimited ECUs. Search the web for the the AMG Owners forum. That's where I heard them.

FWIW My 99 E55 has a PowerChip ECU with Vmax removal (unlimited) and I haven't had a problem.

Thanks, that was what I was interested in...not having AMG raise the limit, but buying like a aftermarket computer chip that allows you to take the speed limiter off, Does anyone know more about the chips?
