Bumper scratches

I've had my E scratch free for about 6 months, but now I am getting more and more bumper scratches -- its hard to avoid them living in NY.

Does anyone know a good way to get rid of the scratches besides repainting the bumper?

Repainting cost me $250 once.

Put on the Clear Bra...

Have you thought of it ? You get a full front kit for the bumper and hood and side mirrors. I got this before i rolled out of the showroom and have never regretted it. And at under US$300 installed, you can't lose, and it comes with a 5 year warranty. The stuff is near invisible and most people don' see it till i point it out..[8D]

There is really nothing you can do unless you want to put one of those ugly bumber gaurds on. I think it looks better scratched up.

If the scratches are shallow, not really deep into the paint, or even that the paint is gone, you can go to a carshop and ask for some scratch remover, or just some quality polish. Our E320CDI had a major scratch all over the right side of the car, and with some 3M polish and some good effort, it's completely gone! You can still see some small bits of the deepest parts of the scratch, but that's only if you're looking at it from a certain angle, if the light is good, and if you pay good attention to it.

I strongly advise that you try this first. A bottle of quality polish doesn't cost a fortune.

good luck removing!

best regards,

matteus

What you can also do is go to a MB dealership and ask for some touch-up paint for the color of your car. It resembles a nail polish bottle (with brush connected to a twist cap). Try to use as little paint as possible and try your best not to smear.
