2004 E500 - Benzworld.org

I posted a similar post on the news board but I thought put it here too. I put an order in for a 2003 E500 and saw the press release for the 7-G transmission. That along with the fact that this is the first year for this new model (and I'm sure prone to minor glitches), I decided to switch my order to a 2004 model. Does anyone know if the 7-G transmission will be standard in the US 2004 model? Also, does anyone have any news on changes/upgrades for the 2004 model that justify the extra 2 months in waiting? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey I ordered a 2004 E500 also and i was just wondering what is the production date and then maybe date of delivery for the US. thanks any comments would help. I'm just very excited to get it and the waiting is killing me. [:(] thanks again for any comments.

I just ordered a 2004 e350. Brilliant Silver w/ Ash Sport. Does anyone know when they will arrive? I am so excited. I could have gotten a 2003 model for $2000 below invoice. I decided to wait for the 04. I ordered an E320 for my mom. I got a really great deal on it. Is anyone in the market for a 2003. I can tell you how to buy one for $1000 to $2000 below invoice.

I went to the Dealership today and test drove the E500. I was told the 2004's should arrival in dealers in November and December. Im waiting because next years they will have the Navigation System

Does anyone know if the 7-G transmission will be standard in the US 2004 model?

Those are coming in 2005 with the 7-G Transmission 6 speed. I read it in the consumer guide. Though im having second thoughts about 2004's, Might as well wait for the 2005s

Your saying that you are getting the new 2004 with the new 6 speed transmission coming out later this year?

I have read several reports that the E500 will have the 7G this fall! In fact it's mentioned on the Diamler Chrysler web site!![:D]

I thought the new E500 with the new 6 speed Automatic coming next fall 2004. I read it in the Consumer Guide. I guess they are wrong then. Does anybody know if the new 6 speed will have better performance. I saw in the Consumer guide that the Automatic performance is poor. Is it true???[?]
