Service Measure - replace central gateway control module - Benzworld.org

Received a letter today requesting I arrange to take my car (RHD E320 Aug 02 built)) to any dealer for the central gateway control module to be replaced.

It says "DaimlerChrysler has developed a technical enhancement to ensure that the interior dat control and monitoring system fited to the vehicle functions at its optimum under all conditions"

What does all this mean- some kind of recall but for what!!

DaimlerChrysler Australia advsied today that the Control Gateway control module monitors interior systems - it apparently build up a knowledge base for dealer diagnostics

It is being replaced to ensure unintentional warning light activity is eliminated.

Module is located under dash on driver's side for RHD vehicles
Replacement is approx 1 hour job.
