I think that it is beautiful and when the second or third model year comes out, she will be ours.
But on if these (most this one) are available:
Three petrol engines and three CDI diesel engines will initially be available for the new Mercedes Estate, with outputs ranging from 110 kW/150 hp to 150 kW/204 hp. The power plants for the E 220 CDI, E 270 CDI and E 320 CDI models are from the second generation of sophisticated common-rail engines and deliver up to eight percent more torque and around five percent more output than the CDI engines fitted in the outgoing models. Fuel consumption has been reduced by up to 0.6 litres per 100 kilometres. The flagship diesel model – the E 320 CDI – develops an impressive 500 Newton metres of torque from just 1800 rpm.
As a side note Drew, when the forum accepts your message and says thans for posting, the word message has an extra 's' in it.
I think the wagon looks pretty good - I don't like the rear end styling though. I could even venture to say that the W210 wagon's rear looked better thant this.
Why didn't they just match the sedan or slightly modify the sedan's lights? This 211 wagon's rear lights are a modification of the 210 wagon's lights, but they don't look as good (more red at top changes the look).
For some reason the rear lights remind me of the old (mid-90's) Honda Accord wagon. If they fixed the lights, it would look really nice.

Well,
I have look and looked at this car...and I like it!!I have the E320 CDi Elegance 2001 model,at first glance from the front the only difference appears to be the door handles and lights.
Put the two cars beside each other and you can clearly see that car appears sleeker and more aerodynamic...more like a brother than a distant relative to the predecessor.
I think Mercedes are going to have to do well on the first face-lift if this example is to stand the test of time!
Does anyone know when the car is available in the UK?
