On this my 1500+ post, I bring everyone good news, confirming the superiority of the E-class's design. The EuroNCAP has crash tested a '03 E-class, with excellent results, awarding it the elusive five out of five stars. For those of you who are unaware, the EuroNCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) is a much more stringent test, encompassing many more categories than the IIHS or the US government's NHTSA crash test.
This proves once again that MB is one of the leaders as far as passive and active safety is concerned, being years ahead of much of the competition. For me personally, this is why I'll probably always drive a MB vehicle [:)]
On another note, as expected, the M-class performed very impressively as well, not bad for a design that has been around since 1998.
