After reading lots of posts here regarding the nav disk not reading, I'm still at a loss for correcting this problem on my 2006 E320 CDI. The COMAND head unit has the latest available software update and everything else works as it should. I purchased the 2015 Nav DVD update and when it tried to load I'm guessing something got corrupted and I don't know how to fix it. I've unplugged fuses/power for possible reset, tried the old nav disk, etc... Disk spins but player doesn't read it and gives me the error message.
Any chance someone might know what the problem is and how to fix it?? Any help appreciated - I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it might work!!
Appreciated. I've already downloaded and successfully installed this COMAND update. It didn't correct the DVD issue. Luckily I found the Mercedes Service DVD referenced in the bulletin and it will be here in a couple of days. Hopefully it will turn the trick.
UPDATE:
I received the DVD update disk from Mercedes today and attempted to install per provided instruction. The disk began the install but I couldn't tell if it did a full install. Within a minute or so the screen went to "nav basic". I removed the Update disk, reinserted the nav disk, turned the car and pulled the key. I then turned the car on and went to nav. I got the car triangle symbol on the screen for a while but no map and then eventually the No DVD error on screen.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. It looks like the DVD drive is working to me. I think this is a software issue still but am certainly open for all suggestions.
Assume DVD is not a copy, is 2015-2016 Mercedes-Benz NTG1 v15.0 (part number T1000-239020) MB | Home | HERE, and processor update was successful problem “may” be with disc.
Noodles previously suggested in another thread: eject the disc, wait 30 minutes with the key away from the car and let the car go into sleep mode, then try again. Owner actually waited overnight with disc installed, next morning all was fine.
navdvdmaps.com is selling copies, not the genuine disc. Please do not get burned by them.
I can tell just from looking at their picture of the disc it is a fake. Burnable DVD with a white printable surface for an inkjet or purpose built disk duplicator.
As far as my updates have gone the one that I did for the nav processor took about 10 minutes and told me it is was done by turning off and restarting.
Not sure if that is how it is supposed to happen, but in my case it worked.
