Left wheel knocking after check

Hi, I had a look at the left tie rod arm specifically the ball joint. In doing so I mistakenly thought the seal was gone and popped it out of the joint.

Turned it right and then to the left and I could see the seal was still good and not split as I had been told.

I popped it back into the joint and screwed it up tight.

Immediately on every rotation the wheel knocks, I only took this ball joint out and then back in and I don't understand why it now knocks.

Before I go back and investigate, do the more experienced of you understand what may be causing this.

Thank you.

Since the knock only occurred after you popped out and then popped back in the ball joint I agree with your deduction that the knock is related to the work you did.

What torque specs did you use to re-tighten the ball joint after removal? My guess is that is was not seated properly or not torqued to specification.
