2003 E320 oil dipstick question,

I am having difficulty finding a oil dipstick for my 2003 E320 base chassis 211.065.
ordered one from Carstuff, Part #: W0133-1629131, but it's too short.
I'd appreciate any suggestions where I can get it. Cheers.

Auto parts stores (Pep Boys, O'Reilly, ...) carry all kinds of oil dipsticks. If you know the length of the old dipstick then you can get the one with the right length for your car.

The problem is that there is no dipstick to measure so I can't go by length. Thanks though.

How did you know that it's too short?

How are you going to know if another dipstick is too short or too long?

You are right, I'll not know until someone sells me the proper dipstick.
Perhaps I've posted a trivial question, I am not a pro.
The on board computer said the oil level is OK but the dipstick I received comes out dry.
-is the computer wrong?
-is the dipstick I got not the right one for my car?

Don't drive your car anymore until the oil level checks out. It may be low on oil.
Bring the stick that you bought from Carstuff to the dealer. Ask the salesclerk to show the dipstick for your car. Verify the two sticks' lengths. If there's difference, buy it from the dealer. If there's no difference, you're not obligated to buy the dealer's stick, and you know that the computer is not telling the truth.

On a w211, to the best of my knowledge, the only way to check the oil is with the computer. There is actually no dipstick that comes with the car (The little red plug on the front of the engine block is just a plug (the dealership told me that, I was concerned right after I bought mine that it was dry).

I know you can get a mechanics dipstick from the dealership, but as long as the computer says it is ok, you should be fine.

good suggestion, checked with the dealer and they do not sell those, not even so called mechanics dipsticks. I'll keep searching.
