New 03 e500, Problems?

Hey Guys, This is my First Post On here. I Just bought a 2003 e500 with 150k miles from my uncle, and he said it has a few problems with it like, the primary cats are bad, it needs new motor mounts, and if the car sits for a few weeks the car looks like it was slammed on coilovers. Im Still trying to figure the airmatic problem(s) with the earlier year w211 by searching the forums. But i never heard of anyones primary cats going out, or the motor mounts. So if someone can enlighten me, that would be awesome! And if i end up do needing to buy new cats, how would that work and who can i get them from. i live in California, but im not to sure on the laws cali has on cats so, some .02 cents would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Catalitic converters are very important both for your engine and emission control, as you live in California you had best get used to the term OBDII (Google it). And the new cats must confirm to Californian laws.

Regards

Motor mounts need to be replaced at around every 80k miles. There are 3... 2 for the actual motor, and 1 tranny mount.

As far as cats, ride dirty!

@Eric: Sorry about that! Updated ] & thanks for the info. But where can i get those specific cats, and not for an arm and a leg. You know what im saying. Ive seen some webaites that sell the parts, but they all specifically wont ship to Ca. Not sure why?

@IceMan: haha. I gotta pass smog before i even try to drice the car! If i get pulled over and get a ticket, and get a point. My license will be revoked (again). :/

Shop around for prices to replace the cats, and let us know how much it ends up being...

Check with a reputable custom exhaust shops. They will have a line on 50 state cats and
still be hundreds less than the MB dealer price.
