2004 E500 Blutooth USB conversion

Is there a conversion package (Benz or aftermarket) out there that will enable me to use a USB flash drive to play MP3 files on the existing sound system. Also to be able to use my Nokia N95 cell phone with the existing phone system and Mercedes voice command. My phone also has ability to store and play MP3. It would be ideal to be able to have independent control over the playing of MP3.

You should indicate your location, preferably at your profile. Phone options are very much market area dependent.

If you have the OEM phone kit, you should be able to plug in a BT adapter allowing you to use your N95 and control it from the car.

You could plug the N95 to your AUX input but I doubt you could find a way to control it for MP3 titles from the car.

Thank you for the reply. I am from Toronto and am not sure what type of aftermarket solutions will work. If anyone has had any successful conversion I can source out any where I have to go to get. How would such a device be installed and who would be the best to attempt. Are there any adaptors that can plug my cell phone into the OEM phone kit that exists in the car. I have a cassette player and tried the cassette adaptor but this is poor quality noisy junk.

I'm not sure if you are talking about MP3 stuff or hands free operation.

For hands free you do not need any after market devices. Just buy the correct MB BT adapter for your car. I think the US products are valid for Canadian cars too:

Sounds like you would have the Audio 50 head unit. I'm not sure if there is any OEM AUX audio option for that, other members can help you with this issue.

If you have audio 20 or command you can use a Dension Gateway 500, connects via the fibre optic, ipod, usb and aux plus BT optional, audio 50 Gateway Lite MOST (ipod and USB but no bluetooth option) + Fiscon Bluetooth (controlled via steering wheel, contacts etc on display in speedo mic would be only non-standard visible part)

It's not likely you'll be able to connect "music" to your COMAND via Bluetooth.

Also depending on Bitrate Bluetooth won't be able move the data fast enough without
dropouts in the data stream that carries the music.

Actually our W204 does it via the UMI/Navigation 20 interface that supports the specific bluetooth streaming profile. New Comand units seem to be coming with this support but it has not been activated (like the W212).

For the W211 music over BT should not be possible with OEM components.

Gateway 500 will support A2DP music streaming profile with your N95. Fiscon kit will also support A2DP but is only a mono connection AFAIK.

Dension Gateway 500
Bluetooth for Gateway 500

Gateway 500 is a great product, OEM-like in operation
