Cabin Air Filter or Filters??

I have a 2005 E320 Wagon. I see that the cabin air filter housing is inside the hood on the top left side.
Are there 2 cabin air filters?? The internet vendors indicate that they sell a paper filter, and also a filter set (comprised of 2 filters). I'm confused. Is there another cabin air filter under the dash?

Older W/S211 cars with the 4-zone AC had another charcoal filter in the cabin. Later a combination filter replaced the second one. I'm not sure which option goes for a 2005 car.

4-zone A/C uses the Dual interior filter system. The 2-zone system uses the single combination filter under the hood.

I have a 2005 E500, and it definitely has the filter under the hood. It is located under a cover, over the auxiliary battery. Is it possible that the 2005 also has the filters located in the cabin?

The filter under the hood exists always. EPC shows this one changed from a dust filter to a combination filter at some point, for cars that do not have the charcoal filter at the cabin. I remember someone stating that from this point onwards the cabin filters would not exist any more but drivebiwire may well be right that they always exist on a car with the 4-zone AC (so it is not about a MY 2005 versus some other MY).

4-zone AC

MY03-04 is equipped dust filter in engine compartment and two interior charcoal filters located under glove box.

MY05 is equipped with a single dust filter located in engine compartment only – OEM part 2118300018 (for comparison shopping, parts.com $23.58).

My 05 has the four zone and I have one under the hood and two under the right side dash.
Very easy to change. Was sent a Mann for under the hood and the set of 2 Meyle interior filters.
They are due for a change.

Lets toss in the MY06 E-350 if we could. Dealer said it was below glove box, but I'm also seeing the cover and something under near the aux battery. Any suggestions?
