Wow! That's going to be a handsome car! I think the lighter grey interior with the darker grey exterior will look very elegant. I'm in Canada also and am looking to buy or lease an e-class too. Can I ask how much down you put and what the lease rate is? How long do they estimate before you have your car?
I don't drive a whole lot; maybe 12,000 km/year, lot of short (less than 5 km) distances. A gas engine is probably better for me; still I'm drawn towards the diesel not only because of the obvious economy, but also because of the strong resale, as well as the feeling that you're getting a bullet proof product.
I've been looking at 2008 demos but the only thing they have on the lot are black interiors, and I really don't like black. My kid just totalled the S80, so I've got no car. I've had thoughts about ordering a new one (expensive . . .) but haven't really entertained the idea until the last few days. Guess I could always rent a car for a couple of months, but that's a hassle too. Seems I got a quote on leasing but it was higher than that - did you push a heck of a deal somehow?? Please comment also, if you would, on your thought processes with the diesel; I'm very interested. Thanks
Diesel is the way to go- see my previous replies to you
Avoid the 08 demos unless you are buying and driving the car into the ground- the residual values will kill you, I was quoted $932/mo for an 08 gasser, got the more expensive 09 oil burner for $22/month less or $792 over the life of the lease and I'll save $1000 per year on fuel based on $1.40 for premium, $1.30 for diesel based on Transport Canada city mileage, which from my experience is about what you can actually expect in everyday driving
