What is the correct Bluetooth adapter for 2005 E500? - Benzworld.org

I have a 2005 E500 4matic with a phone cradle under the armrest in my car. I thought that I would need to get a Bluetooth Interface Module but when I went to the dealer ship they told me that I would need a V60 Bluetooth adapter. Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

After I put the adapter in the cradle and followed the instructions I was able to pair it with my phone. I can see "MB PhoneSystem" in my phone. But when I try to use it I get "Please Insert the phone" message ont he command display screen and cannot use it. Can anyone please help?

Thanks, but the V60 adapter seems to fit the cradle. Do you if the Bluetooth Interface Module have the same connector (i.e. would it fit in there as well)?

I'm guessing you have the MHI phone kit in the car and a V60 cradle adapter that fits to the MHI connector. The V60 adapter should fit to any cradle that is made for a V60 phone but it does not mean the V60 adapter was built to work with the phone control unit in the car.

The bluetooth interface module would fit to your MHI connector.

If you follow the info from the links (AWS) that lkchris and yourself posted, it should be clear which device is intended for your car. Why would AWS not mention it if the V60 adapter was supposed to work in your car.

This is kind of like belt and suspenders combined, that is using an MHI cradle for V60 to hold a V60 puck.

There's a newer puck that fits where the cradle fits instead and that's the usual installation on the 2005-up MHI cars.

IMHO in the long run the newer puck will bring more if try to sell it.

The V60 BT cradle adapter must physically fit to your V60 cradle but I understand from AWS that the phone controller of a 2005 car would not be compatible with this V60 BT cradle adapter. At least AWS does not even mention the option of using the MHI cradle for a V60 phone and a V60 cradle adapter there.

Perhaps someone from the US can verify one way or the other about the V60 BT cradle adapter functionality on top of a V60 cradle on an MHI car kit.
