- Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds

Very interesting... Can you since it is back to factory settings lead to better gas mileage if you do that after you bought the car used and you don't know how the pre-owner drove the car?

Depends how the previous owner had driven the car. But in any case it would not take long before the tranny anyway adapts to your driving style. So my answer to the question "what is that good for" is more or less "nothing". It may be useful for diagnostics purposes or after repair work.

Does that work with all E-Class from posting #4? I tried it in my 2004 E320 but I didn't hear a click from the dashboard coming. I left the key in for at least 2 to 3 minutes until I tried it again removing the key right after I released the pedal.
