new guy with HID questions

my dad just picked up an 09 e350, but for some reason MB decided that a 60k car wasn't worthy of factory HID's, so alas i am looking for an aftermarket HID kit or a link to OEM, though im sure they would be ridiculously priced. I am an audi guy myself, and know nothing about mercedes. What would those of you who have upgraded suggest i buy to give this car some HID love?

thanks in advance!

The HIDs are an option.

Many of us--me for example--are happy about this, as we can't stand them.

Here's all you need to know about HIDs: Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

I added Factory Euro Xenon Headlights to my W211

You must have the car version coded to Xenon Present via the SDS aka star for the lights to work

The OE headlights cost more but they are the best way to go

As The aftermarket HID kits are not plug and play...cutting/hacking the harness
and the Headlights do not have the correct cutoff pattern/projector that the OE Mb lights use

Try MBENZNL.com for USA or Euro Xenons

If you feel the car is expensive, then don't spoil it with some after market xenon bulb kit. Better to keep it as it is or follow the advice from Mark Cummins.
