My local MB dealer has a 2004 E320 with 34,000 miles on it. It comes with a MB Certified used car program that lasts through August 2010. They are asking 21,000. Is it worth it? Is the certified program any good? The car is black on black. Was traded in for a 2008.
Any major issues with this year? Any and all comments/advise welcome.
Thanks!!

As long as all 03 recall campaigns were performed, you are fine. The warranty program is a good thing, and should compensate for any missed TSB or recall. $21k is a good price for an 04 CPO. Check also whether you have the nav system or not. Mercedes are cars you get to increasingly appreciate with time. They are safe, comfortable and well thought through. Good luck!
I'm in the same position as you with regard to these cars; I'm buying my first one, and also trying to watch my budget.
With the caveat that I've never owned one, I'm getting the impression that you should try to avoid 2003-2005. Quality was apparently poor the first years and then began to improve 2005 on, with 2006 being "better" than 2005 and 2007 being "better" than 2006. My budget really comfortably allows a 2005-2006, but I'm going to stretch myself to a well maintained 2007, even if it means going a bit higher mileage.
