Told my local friendly sales rep I was going with a competitive car due to limited availability of '08's and the quoted rate of $934/mo
He went quiet, then softly suggested I consider the '09 Avant Guard edition, fully loaded with premium and nav, 610 w sound system, 4 matic, etc, etc for $932/mo, zero down for 36 months- more car for less money!
I know this will make the US guys choke but it sounds like a great deal for us in the Great White North
Any other Canucks get a quote- be curious to see how this compares
The E300 has the same exterior look as an 07 or 08 E350...the 18" 10-split spoke wheels etc. (NOT AMG sports pkg). The 09 E350 has the AMG sports package on it with the 5-spoke AMG wheels & body kit.
Since it's the last year for the 211, they are doing what they did for the 07 C-Class Avantgarde....add a ton more equipment, but charge base MSRP. Here are some more details....
2009 E300 4Matic: $65,800 ($7550 of extra stuff)
-18" wheels, sport suspension, body kit(not AMG), black birdseye trim
- Parktronic, Garage opener, Comand APS w/HDD Nav/Bluetooth/DVD changer
- Electronic trunk closure
- Bixenon headlights
- media interface
2009 E350 4Matic: $74,500 ($8375 of extra stuff)
- AMG body kit & AMG 18" 5-spoke wheels
- parktronic
- same new comand head unit as the 300
- rear sunshade
- heated rear seats
- media interface
- electronic trunk closure
2009 E550 4Matic: $85,300 ($10,575 of extra stuff)
- AMG body kit & AMG 18" 5-spoke wheels
- climate comfort front seats
- same Nav system as 300 & 350
- rear sunshade
- heated rear seats
- electronic trunk
- keyless go
- panoramic roof
- media interface
THE LEASE/FINANCE RATE FOR THESE 2009's IS 2.5%!!!!
We got our first 09 E300 the other day, and i seriously considered buying it. As an MB salesman, i am impressed with what they've done. I wouldn't have a problem driving an "old" body E-Class, even though the new one is coming...IMO, these cars never look old.
earlier posts were before any "official" release, just what the salesman told me and obviously he was [somewhat] wrong
Still impressed with the overall value and have ordered a Tenorite Grey/Alpaca E320 Bluetec, $910/mo, 36 months, 0 down- the way our $ is headed lately this may be a great deal
Sounds like a very good deal for the new '09's. As busta points out, with the new E-Class coming in 2010, M-B Cda is offering some nice incentives for getting a 211 now.
I leased my E300 in June for $779/month (39 months). It has all the options including Xenon pkg and premium pkg. I was able to negotiate a nice discount along with a high residual and reasonable i.r. to get to that payment. On top of that, M-B Cda made the first 2 lease pmts.
I'll be quite happy driving this car until 2011 then see what the new E looks like. Enjoy the '09!

In the past when a new MB model upgrade occurs the last couple of years of the old model show up on the used market at what often looks like real bargains.
I'm going to wait on the 10 release. If it is not an immense improvement I'll go bargain hunting!

That could backfire on you, sold my 300TD in 87 for about 5k less than I paid for it and the 95 in 98 for 8k less, both very acceptable depreciation rates, the cars were in excellent condition and only had about 50,000 km when sold- some of the cheapest vehicles I ever owned, once you take into consideration the tax break on using them for business
