My MB is a recently purchased 2005 E320 CDI Saloon
I have a problem that my fuel flap will not unlock. This has just happened and it is a long holiday weekend over here in the UK and MB Dealers are closed for service.
Am I missing something ?. As far as I can see this flap unlocks when the car is unlocked. Don't want to feel a fool turning up at MB if there is something I have missed.
Has anybody had this problem. Is there a way to get round it.
I am grounded and not able to go anywhere until I can refuel.
In Fault / Diagnostics in the manual it lists the problem and says to contact an authorised MB service repair centre.
I have not had the problem but I remember a couple of other owners having it. You should anyway be able to open the filler flap manually from the trunk. I'm not sure if the user guide covers this but if you can find old posts on the topic, it would be explained there.
At least for a couple of cars it was about an incorrect/bad part that did not release the lock tap fully because of incorrect dimensions.
Thanks I had a good look behind the boot lining and managed to get my hand on the mechanism but I would have to take out all the lining to get full access. Chickened out and got the nice man in the service bay at my local MB to do it this morning. Going to get the actuator replaced under warranty. Thanks for the advice anyway.
