Another question, using Leather Conditioner wipes on Vinyl seats wont hurt anything will it? I just did my whole interior, looks good though.
Here's a Pic of my interior (pre Leather conditioned)::
Is it MB-Tex? Whatever it is, it feels great, and I guess I could make myself feel happy about the fact that I'm not sitting on Animal hide
This car in the picture has MBtex. You can tell by the door panel, it's tight. On a car with full leather, the door panels front/rear will also have leather cover. MBtex is a good quality German vinyl which require very little maintenance. Not a bad thing to have.
Yeah, I'm cool with it. Feels fine to me. Not exactly as plush as my S-Class, but I'm more into Leather for the look and feel, not for whether it's real, as long as it can fool me enough to not constantly remind me that I'm sitting on fake stuff when I get in the Car, I'm cool with it
I just Leather Conditioned my whole interior then for nothing though, hah. What's the best product to use to condition MB-Tex/Vinyl? Or are they durable enough to just be left alone?
An easy way to give your cat the leather look is to remove the door pannel inserts and get them redone with gathered leather . We have done this in work to lots of cars and it would be hard to notice the difference on a pre face lift car

You did it right. Don't forget that even with the MBTex material, the actual perforated seating surfaces are still leather.
Cool, thanks. So are the seating surfaces the same Leather as a Leather car, or lower quality?
Steve E Class Limo: Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between the pre face lift and face lift cars that would allow the pre to not be as noticable with the Leather door inserts?
I'm gonna look up how much that would cost....I do have to say, I kind of like the smooth surface though, I guess it doesn't hurt the "Sport" aspect of the car, I guess it's a preference/toss up thing.

I think that is incorrect. As far as I can tell, unless it has the leather option its all vinyl (MB-Tex) the leather option (about $1540) puts the leather inserts on the seats and couple other places.
I stand (or sit !) corrected ! I was going by what MB corp told me,although I think the guy I was talking to had no clue either. It does seem that there is a insert, perforated that can be added that is leather.Sorry Cagalbraith,I was wrong and you are correct
MBTex last longer than any leather. I sold 1983 MB model about 6 years ago and the seats have been in good condition.
Than as mentioned lately most of the seats are combination. Usually the center part is the leather, while the sides that get rub a lot are more durable plastic.
Personally I prefer fabric. On ML320 that we ordered new, we have fabric and even after 10 years even our son can't make them look bad.
We retired 17-years old Volvo with fabrics maybe dirty, but still holding well. That car went thru school runs for 3 boys.

The pre face lift cars have the same pattern on the seat fronts with leather and MBtex . The face lift cas have a different pattern on the seat fronts , for the Elegance cars the leather seats now have 4 insert pannels insted of 2 and they have no perforations . The Avantgrade cars have the same 2 pannel style as the MBtex but with no perforations .
