Help Resetting Service Indicator

I have a 2005 E320 which received it's "d" service by a local garage. They were unable to reset the service indicator and the local dealer refused to tell them how to do it even though the owners manual says they will do so. I called the dealer and was told that they did not recognize the repair facility and therefor would not provide the info. I thought this unfair and poor business practice but rather than fight them I thought I would just find out how to reset it. Anyone know the correct procedure? Thank you.

ignorant question

what exactly did your D service entail, mine is comming up soon and I am a bit confused, I mean I understand them wanting to spend 4 hours with it but what exactly are they doing?

Thank you in advanced for your assistance.

Ck. your owners manual. It shows you how to look at all the items that are listed that your car needs. Service D for one owner can differ from Service D for another, that's why u need to go to the items that the car lists. This will also show u what the 4 hours of work will entail.

I just completed Service D on my '03 E500...$670.00 including oil change, cabin filters, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, wiper fluid flush, trans. fluid flush....in addition "electronic brake motor" replaced under warranty "did not meet MB specs" . Apparently, there have been problems and this item is warranted to 150k miles. Car runs great, but has developed pesky engine noise after replacing leaky motor mount. Dealer says this is the second '03 they've seen w/ this problem. Think it's resonance from exhaust? I think the re-seating of the exhaust wasn't performed properly...stay tuned.
