My only major complaint with my 2007 W211 is the armrest. Are there any conversion kits available so that one can have an armrest such as the one depicted below?
In Europe we get this armrest when the car is equipped with a cellular phone kit. Wouldn't it be the same in the US? At least then it should be possible to order these parts.
That's a standard 2005 and before armrest. I expect you could order parts to replace yours, but you might need to replace the entire center console. Just guessing...
I Changed the console on The Wifes 2006 W211 to the EURO console..It can be done...Contact MBENZNL.com re the parts
As Europe kept the Nice console The US gets the crappy one with the Cup holders...as the cupholders are WORTHLESS ....wait until a drink spills into the shifter...Then You WILL Wish that You had the EURO console!

This may be the case for the US but one of my Euro W211 cars had the cell phone kit and had this armrest while my other W211 that had no car kit had a single piece armrest. Both cars the same model year.

Hello,
I have this armrest in my Mercedes - Benz E320 2003 USA with a phone kit.
I have two friends that have a MBZ E Class 2005 and a 2006 with the "rolldoor" armrest, they both are switching to the one that I have and the one depicted in the picture.
Search the fourm, this issue has been discussed in the before.
hey i dont think its standard cause i have an 05 320 4matic and it doesnt have that armrest; mine lifts from a single hinge in the rear instead of spliting open

This armrest actually does both. One button makes the top split open to reveal the phone kit (if equipped), while the other button open the whole armrest as one piece that hinges from the back.
